As we flow through the summer months of 2021, there's a constant level of uncertainty in how our social service will include the much-valued interpersonal connections that have been enjoyed by Rotary members in previous times. The principle of "hands are in front of each other" will be an important element of our routine however, it is evident that there's a rising confidence and a desire to connect face-to face. The Rotary organization has evolved. It is still unclear the manner in which our work with humanity can be incorporated into the highly coveted human connections which Rotary Members had during earlier time. While the motto of "hands-in-space" is certainly a component of our everyday routine It is clear that the confidence of our members is increasing and we are able to make more personal connections. Rotary is also changing. Rotary is a social network that fosters long-lasting friendships. We've honed our practices maintaining the business meetings online' whilst reintroducing service and social activity in a safe face-to-face format. To build a vibrant new future, we've seized the new possibilities and merged them with our most effective pre-pandemic strategies. It was encouraging to learn that 75% of Rotary clubs plan to continue their "business as usual" actions. This summer the majority of Rotary members were out with their families and friends, working on various projects including river and beach cleanings and litter pick-ups. Read this article.
